Tim Cook bids adieu
There was no "passing of the torch" moment between Apple CEO Tim Cook and CEO-in-waiting John Ternus, as we had hoped. At the end of his final WWDC presentation as CEO, Cook did, however, have some poignant remarks to make.
Cook said viewers farewell with the following remarks in a pre-recorded statement:
"Events like tonight have been among the highlights of my time as CEO. I've shared powerful new tools with all of you, and what you've created with them has served as a continuous reminder that creativity has no bounds. With the amazing features we announced today, I genuinely think the greatest is still to come. Over the years, you have assisted individuals in creating, learning, and experiencing the world in understandable ways."

Cook succeeded Steve Jobs as CEO of Apple in August 2011.
With record iPhone sales, Apple recently became as the world's most popular mobile phone brand, and Cook is wrapping out an incredibly successful stint there.
